Service

Our primary focus here at SUNY Oswego is service. Brothers aim to serve the Music Department in any way possible. We can be seen ushering most music events held on campus, as well as many theater events. In addition to ushering, we help the Music Department by running errands for professors, watering pianos, and offering short-term tutoring in select classes.

In addition to service on campus, Nu Chapter also helped with a major off-campus event, SingStrong Music Festival. This acappella festival, originating in Oswego, has expanded into several different locations across the country, with headlining groups coming from across the world to perform for hundreds. The festival hosts classes and concerts, all while raising money the advancement of music and to fight Alzheimer’s disease. Brothers helped in several aspects of the festival such as sorted shirts, organized pre-sale tickets, helped with stage set-up and sound-check, made directional posters, ushered concerts, and made sure everything ran smoothly. A notable member of SingStrong is our very own alumna Brother Diana Preisler, a member of the headlining group, Blue Jupiter, and co-star of Lifetime TV’s hit a cappella series, Pitch Slapped. Brothers still intend on either attending or volunteering at SingStrong annually!
