===== COVID-19 Response =====

===== Recent Policy Updates =====

==== Adoption of the Omnibus Chapter Maintenance package ====

The Fraternity agreed to replace a number of policies and enact the constitutional amendments necessary to implement them. The existing Fraternal Life and Conduct policies (Fraternal Life and Conduct Policy, Hazing Guidelines, Alcohol and Substance Abuse Guidelines, Sexual Misconduct Guidelines) were replaced with the [[policies:risk-management-policy]] and the [[policies:code-of-conduct]]. The Non-Functioning Chapter and Reinstatement Policy was replaced with the [[policies:chapter-oversight-and-reinstatement-policy]]. A new nondiscrimination policy was implemented as Section XVI of the National Constitution as part of the constitutional changes.

==== June 6 Resolution ====

The Board of Trustees issued a resolution to recognize ongoing and persistent use of police brutality against black individuals, and to recommend changes to promote equality and social justice within Mu Beta Psi. Full text of the resolution available at [[policies:bot-resolution-equality]]


==== Inclusive Policies ====

  * The Fraternity has resolved to change the terminology from 'Pledge,' 'Pledging,' etc. to terms and titles that emphasize inclusion, dignity, and excitement, for members to join this organization. Proposed changes were presented and approved at Convention 2020.
  * [[policies:national-constitution]] changed 'men and women' in our first purpose to 'individuals'
  * [[policies:legislative-council]] and [[policies:board-of-trustees]] have been updated with the gender neutral pronouns approved at Convention 2018

==== National Office Operation Policy ====
The entirety of [[policies:national-office-operation#fraternal_policies|Section 5]] of the [[policies:national-office-operation]] was re-written in order to provide clarification, modify responsibilities of the National Secretary and Chapters, recognize this policy site as our official Fraternal Library
==== Fraternal Life and Conduct ====
The National Organization agreed to replace the existing policies on sexual harassment, hazing, and substance abuse. In their place, the [[policies:fraternal-life-and-conduct]] policy has now been implemented.
