National Officer Installation Ceremony

The Chair of the BOT shall preside over the Installation Ceremony, with the assistance of two (2) National Officers that are not being installed.

“Will the following Brothers please come forward and line up in front of the head table:

The Chair of the BOT shall give each new officer a small candle, that will be lit from a large central candle being held by Officer #2, after taking their oath of office.


Chair of the BOT:

“Your Brothers in Mu Beta Psi, National Honorary Musical Fraternity, have shown great confidence in your leadership ability and your sincerity of interest in this program of service to music, by having elected you to the offices of this Fraternity. Each of you must accept certain definite responsibilities before being officially installed into office.”

National President

Chair of the BOT:

“Brother _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, you have been elected to serve as National President of this Fraternity. Your duties as the National Fraternity prescribes are:
• To preside over National Executive Committee and the Legislative Council.
• To oversee National Conventions, and.
• To ensure the continuation of the Fraternity and its Chapters.

National Vice President of Chapter Maintenance

Chair of the BOT:

• To coordinate and direct all activities associated with the maintenance of the Chapters of this Fraternity,

• To ensure the continuation of the Fraternity and its Chapters.

National Vice President of Expansion

National Secretary

• To maintain copies of all National correspondence and other National records, and
• To ensure the continuation of the Fraternity and its Chapters.

• To handle and administer all National funds as directed by the National Executive Committee or the Legislative Council, and approved by the Board of Trustees,

• To advise Chapters in their administration of funds and accounts, and
• To ensure the continuation of the Fraternity and its Chapters.

National Communications Officer

• To chair all functions of the Judiciary Branch,
• To ensure that the Board of Trustees follows the guidelines set forth and described in the Board of Trustees Policy Manual, and
• To ensure the continuation of the Fraternity and its Chapters.

Permanent Member Of The Board Of Trustees

Officer #1:

“Brother _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, you have been elected to serve as a permanent member of the Board of Trustees of this Fraternity. Your duties as the National Fraternity prescribes are:
• To insure that the National Constitution, Chapter By-Laws and National Policies of Mu Beta Psi are upheld,
• Should the Fraternity dissolve, to have full authority to reestablish normal organization of the Fraternity, To maintain the standards and uphold the principles of the Fraternity throughout all of its Chapters,
• To serve as a member of the Judiciary branch of this Fraternity, and
• To ensure the continuation of the Fraternity and its Chapters.

Chief Financial Officer

Chair of the BOT:

• To ensure the financial health and stability of Mu Beta Psi,
• To audit National and Chapter finances and enforce compliance with state and federal laws,
• To advise the National Treasurer, National Finance Committee, and all Chapters in the management of Fraternity finances, and
• To ensure the continuation of the Fraternity and its Chapters.

“Inasmuch as each of you has accepted your responsibilities of office, I ask you to raise your right hand and repeat after me the oath of office.
Say ‘I’ — and give your full name one at a time —

and now all together repeat:
‘do hereby solemnly promise —
to faithfully discharge the duties of my office —
to the best of my abilities —
and to give unselfishly of my time and energy —
in directing this service program —
for Mu Beta Psi.’

You may lower your hands.

On behalf of the National Fraternity, I charge you to perform the duties of your office in the spirit of love, understanding, and Brotherhood. Your efforts as officers of this Fraternity will be rewarded only by the satisfaction which you gain in seeing Mu Beta Psi grow and increase its service to music. Let us keep our standards high. The Fraternity is looking to you for leadership.

To you, Brothers of Mu Beta Psi, I present your new officers-elect, and for them ask your hearty cooperation for the success of their term of office and for the advancement of Mu Beta Psi.

May Brotherhood Prevail”

This Installation Ceremony may be revised as necessary by the National Executive Committee, and approved by a two-thirds (⅔) vote of the Legislative Council.
